With instincts as old as time, the mother whale tenderly guides the newborn calf from the ocean depths to the surface. There the calf receives its life sustaining first breath. One of the many dangers facing the humpback whale while birthing is the presence of predatory sharks, known to attack highly vulnerable newborn calves. With natural instincts, the bottlenose dolphins have been known to seek out and even attack these vicious predators of the deep to protect the baby calves. We have created this sculpture to demonstrate the natural harmony that these two mammals have.

Aloha! This piece was hand sculpted in the flame by Sean Price. It features a mother and baby humpback whale and 6 dolphins. The mother pushes her baby to the surface for its very first breath as the dolphins swim around them. They are made of borosilicate (Pyrex) glass and mounted in casted coral painted black to resemble Hawaiian lava. It stands approximately 15"h x 10.5"w x 8"d. All work is guaranteed in travel. Damaged pieces will be repaired or replaced for free!
