About
About Kai Pua
In Hawaiian, "Kai" means ocean, and "Pua" means flower. We like to think our gallery is where the ocean meets the flowers.... Amazing glass torched on site becomes sea life in the hands of our talented owner/artist John Lindquist and his colleagues. The walls are graced with tropical flowers brought to life by owner/artist Anna Keay Lindquist. Bridging the ocean and flowers, Anna creates intriguing baubles incorporating the shells, pearls, Jewels, and stones of the earth.
Once located in the heart of Lahaina, Kai Pua can now be found online or at local Maui Pop ups. For our pop up schedule please contact us as it changes weekly.

Daniel Lindquist
Daniel Lindquist was first inspired to work with glass when his older brother John Lindquist brought a torch home. John left his set up in the house when he decided to make his move to Maui for a formal apprenticeship. It was at this time that Daniel gained interest in becoming a lamp worker himself. With instruction from his bother and many books and practice, Daniel found his niche. He joined his brother in Maui for his formal apprenticeship from Sean Price at Maui Crystal and then stayed to be a key asset to the family business at Kai Pua in 2011. You can meet Daniel as he works on the torch at Kai Pua and on periodic weekends when he and John exhibit at the banyan tree art fairs in Lahaina.

Sean Price
Sean was born in California in 1970. He first came to Maui at the age of twenty to visit his sister whom at the time was managing a small glass shop in Lahaina. This was his first introduction to Flameworked glass. Within a year, Sean was granted the privilege of apprenticeship in the art of lampworking under the teachings of D.Duncan. Since then, he's never looked back. The island of Maui offers an endless pallet of inspiration above and below the waves. When not behind the torch, Sean enjoys all the diving and hiking this beautiful world has to offer.Aloha and thank you for taking the time to enjoy my creations in glass. The most frequently asked question I get from folks is "What got you started in this?" I've always answered with a laugh, "I like to play with fire!" My answer is true in a way but my real passion is creating art and enjoying the life that we are all blessed with.I'm grateful to live in this beautiful place and have the honor to work with talented friends and artists like John and Anna Lindquist, Nathan Belmont, Daniel Lindquist and Lance Baker. I also wish to give thanks to my Mother and Father and to my good friend Duncan. Without them, I wouldn't be the person that I am today.Aloha, Sean
