“First Breath” Hawaiian Humpback whales

With instincts as old as time, the mother whale tenderly guides the newborn calf from the ocean depths to the surface. There the calf receives its life sustaining first breath.

This sculpture by Sean Price represents that “First Breath” it is beautifully crafted from colored borosilicate (Pyrex) glass using Flamework techniques. The glass is plunged into a superheated torch flame and sculpted using gravity and the way glass flows at different temperatures and a few simple tools. No molds are used in the making so each piece is truly one of a kind. It is mounted in a beautiful piece of burl wood. The sculpture stands 12.5” tall 7” wide and 5” deep.
