Black and White “First Breath” Glass Humpback Whales

Newborn whales don’t know they need to surface to breath. This amazing sculpture by artist Sean Price depicts the mother humpback whale lifting her baby calf to the surface for it’s “First Breath” of air. 
 This piece was hand sculpted in the flame using age old lampworking techniques to heat and manipulate the glass. It is made from unique borosilicate glass most commonly known as Pyrex. Which makes it much more durable than traditional art glass. This piece is 11” tall 5” wide and 4” deep and is mounted on a casting meant to look like Hawaiian lava rock.
